DFIRM and Levee-Related Outreach Activities
The RSC 9 team will continue to provide levee-related outreach activities in Region IX (Arizona, California, Hawaii, and Nevada) similar to support provided to FEMA during Map Mod. This web site provides public access to information about outreach activities and materials.
DFIRM Workshops
FEMA Region IX and RSC 9 staff are conducting Digitial Flood Insurance Rate Map (DFIRM) workshops throughout Region IX. These workshops are designed primarily to inform City and County staff about the benefits and uses of digital, Geographic Information System (GIS)-based, flood hazard data as reflected on countywide DFIRMs. During these workshops, RSC 9 and Region IX staff demonstrate DFIRM contents and integration into the National Flood Hazard Layer. Community data and DFIRM applications for floodplain management and other tasks are explored. The level of detail at these workshops benefits floodplain management and GIS professionals.
DFIRM 101
This workshop is designed for floodplain management and GIS professionals. The goal of the DFIRM 101 Workshop is to:
